*BOSTON NOTES*

  • BOSTON 411 COUNCIL 69 OCTOBER 31 2009

Union Voice Union E-line Union Commentary

Two days after the company announcement that will affect approximately 1000 employees negatively, CEO Douglas Parker appeared at a company Halloween Party allegedly dressed as John Travolta dancing to ‘Staying Alive’.

Didn’t any of his advisors make the suggestion that it may be in poor taste to be hooting and hollering at a party less than 48 hours after the devastating news of domicile closures?  The insensitivity of these actions is so offensive to employees that have been dealt such life altering news.  This decision will not just affect councils 69 and 82 but will eventually affect all flight attendants across the system.  Seems the more things change the more things remain the same around US Airways.

You be the judge.  Visit WINGS for more information and photos.  We find this degree of celebration not the least bit appropriate after such a distressing announcement two days earlier.

    In solidarity,
