Subject: We Can't Make It With "Play-Dough"! Worthy Wages for Early Childhood Educators!

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

As a supporter of early childhood education in our state, I am calling upon you to make a change.

Early childhood educators are one of our most important workforces - yet they are chronically undervalued and command little respect. To make the situation worse, there are efforts underway to increase standards and qualifications to become an early childhood educator. Unfortunately, there is not enough funding for scholarships and compensation to recruit and retain the most qualified educators. Without an increase in funding for scholarships and appropriate compensation, few educators will be able to afford to meet these new requirements.

That is why we need a change!

Every year, one-third of all early childhood educators leave their jobs. The major reason - low pay. Turnover rates among the early education workforce are among the highest in the nation.

Early childhood educators need real Worthy Wages, they can't make it with "Play-Dough"!

We need your help to ensure that our early childhood educators get the rights, raises and respect they deserve by supporting better wages, training and compensation. Early childhood educators are the key to high-quality early care and education, and they help set the stage for a lifetime of learning.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this matter.

Sincerely,
