From August 23rd to September 19th, 2007, Analysts at the U.S. Government Accountability Office exercised their right to form a union and made the historic vote in favor of union representation. The next steps in establishing a governance structure and approval of governing documents for the GAO Local union. The structure and the legal documents that formalize the local union’s representational authority will be presented to and voted on by the entire bargaining unit that is represented by the union - this includes PDP, Band I, Band IIA and Band IIB.
GAO Analysts are now beginning the process of forming an independent, democratically-elected representative local union, with which GAO is required to bargain (not just consult), regarding Employment issues affecting Analysts, their careers and their families.
If you haven’t already, please sign up our GAO Analysts email alerts and check www.gaoanalysts.org for additional information. The participation of all bargaining unit members is crucial and we encourage you to participate in your union.
