Two New Interim Council Vacancies Now Open
for
Nominations
There are two new vacancies on the Interim Council. The interim council is
in the process of constructing the union’s constitution
and we need all voices heard, thus it is important for these
seats to be filled.
The seats are as
follows:
Health Care:
Any bargaining unit member of the health care team may
nominate themselves to fill the Health Care Team’s
position on the IC.
Hispanic Diversity:
Any bargaining unit member may nominate themselves for
the Hispanic Diversity seat.
For
either seat, applicants will have until August 25 at 8 p.m. eastern time to
submit their name in nomination to Elections Committee Chair
Todd Anderson, andersontd@gao.gov. Should there be more than one applicant for a position;
an election will be held to pick the
winner.
Constitution Listening Sessions Continue this
Week
As a reminder, the draft GAO Union
Constitution outline is now available for bargaining unit
members’ review and input, and we would like to request
your input on it.
To seek your input, we will be holding multiple listening
sessions in August and September in both the field and
headquarters.
Lunchtime listening sessions will be held at noon on Thursday,
August 28 in Headquarters room 2T59. So
far, the following field office listening sessions have been
scheduled (all times local to each office):

19 at noon
-Seattle, Wednesday August 20 at
10 a.m.

Additional information can be found on our website at
http://www.gaoanalysts.org/HTML_Pages/Constitution_Listening_Revised.htm. Please contact the constitution
committee through Stephen Ulrich (ulrichs@gao.gov) or
your representative if you have any comments, questions, or
concerns regarding the constitution or the listening
sessions.
Nominations Sought for Finance
Committee
The GAO
Employees Association is currently seeking nominations for the
Finance Committee. The committee will have nine members, five
who are members of the Interim Council (IC) and four Bargaining
Unit (BU) Members. Treasurer Kristi Karls will fill one of the
IC positions, so four IC and four BU positions need to be
filled. If more than four apply for either the IC or BU
positions, the IC will vote to select members. If you are
interested in serving on the committee, please send an e-mail to
Elections Committee Chair Todd D. Anderson, andersontd@gao.gov, indicating that you are nominating yourself for a
position on the committee. You may also include a statement
about why you are seeking the position, but it is not required.
The deadline for submitting nominations is Friday, August 22 at
8 p.m.
eastern time. If you have any questions about the committee,
please contact Kristi Karls,
karlsk@gao.gov.
