Fig Newton Boycott

What's in your fig newton?  Pretty soon it will be lost jobs, closed production lines and long unemployment lines for Kraft Nabisco's Georgia Workers and low wages for their new workers in Mexico.

Subject: Boycott Fig Newtons

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

The members of our union will join with the Atlanta North Georgia Labor Council to support our brothers and sisters of the (BCTGM) Bakery Confectionery Tobacco Workers & Grain Millers Local 42 in boycotting Mexican made Kraft/Nabisco Fig Newton Products.

As the economic crisis continues its alarming effect on this country we cannot support the Kraft Company sending hundreds of US jobs to Mexico.

We will not buy any Fig Newton products until they are made in the USA. If Kraft/Nabisco proceeds with their plans to outsource the production of Honey Grahams we will also boycott them. This outsourcing will clearly have an adverse impact on the Atlanta, Georgia plant, its employees and their families.

Our members and community allies stand in solidarity, committed to taking the necessary action to support our brothers and sisters and USA made products with decent wages and fair working conditions for US workers.

Sincerely,
