IBEW Fights Back

EFCA 2009

Greetings,

The labor movement must mobilize it's union members as well as other American workers who support our causes. Last week when President Barack Obama was sworn into office as the 44th President the clock started ticking on labor. The clock is ticking for labor to get pro-worker legislation passed in Washington which had been unattainable in the previous 8 years of the Bush administration. In the near future legislation such as the Employee Free Choice Act will be debated and we need to ensure that our collective voices are part of the discussion. This e-mail is a plea for all members of IBEW Fights Back to get as many of your fellow union members, families and friends signed up to this E- Activist group. We need to be growing our ranks now before legislation such as the EFCA comes up for a vote. We in labor must not waste this opportunity to help out all American workers, so while I thank all of you for signing up for IBEW Fights Back we need your help to grow our group. Please take just a minute to refer this website to as many people as you can so we can have a positive impact during these crucial days that are ahead. They must hear all of our voices so that they know we in labor are a force to be reckoned with. Contained in this email is a communication designed to be sent to your elected officials asking them for support of the EFCA. All you need to do is review the letter below and then just send it with one click of your mouse. Thanks in advance for supporting the IBEW Fight Back Network and we look forward to a day when all workers are free to join a union more easily due to passage of this Bill. Tell me more

Subject: I ask for your support of the Employee Free Choice Act

Dear [decision maker name automatically inserted here],

Passage of the Employee Free Choice Act in 2009 will be a paramount issue for all workers in America both union and non-union. With over 77% of the American public supporting stronger laws protecting workers freedoms to form unions without employer interference, now is the time for the EFCA to become the law.
I ask for your support in making this much needed legislation become a reality. This Bill will afford all worker in this great country the ability to join a union and collectively bargain in a more fair manner. Thank you for supporting the American worker in their attempt to increase their standard of living by joining a union.

Sincerely,

[Your Name]
