The U.S. Senate is still trying to decide if it will support health care reform

that works for working families, but the U.S. House has already put together a

health care reform bill that working families can support.

H.R. 3962 will provide health coverage to 96 percent of Americans,

control costs and reduce the deficit.

Improves Your Current Coverage. H.R. 3962 will end insurance company

abuse by not letting them deny coverage because of pre-existing conditions or cancel

coverage and raise premiums because you get sick.

ü       Expands Choices With a Strong Public Option. The bill includes a

public health insurance option to offer more choices to working families, lower costs

for all and keep insurance companies honest through competition.

ü      Makes Health Care Affordable. H.R. 3962 includes affordability credits

and out-of-pocket spending caps to make health care more affordable for everyone.

ü      Requires Shared Responsibility. The bill makes sure employers pay their

fair share by either providing health care for employees or paying into a common fund

so responsible employers don’t have to pick up the tab for freeloaders.

ü      Lays No New Taxes on Working Families. H.R. 3962 does not hurt

working families by taxing middle-class health benefits.
