Local unions will again be participating in the 2009 Wichita Veteran's Day Parade.  Come and watch, or better, be a part of the parade.

SPEEA extends an invitation for union members and their families to join them at  location B 6 which will be on the West side of Main, north of Murdock. SPEEA will have signs for people to carry or make your own. And, if you have one,  wear your union tee-shirt or jacket.  You'll want to get to the staging area by 10:15 or so.

Staging Area:

North on Main St. between Murdock and 11th Street.  You will find your line-up number marked on the street.  Column A is on the east side of the street and Column B is on the west.  Please be in your staging area by 10:15 p.m.  Parade officials will be on hand to assist in finding parade locations.

Parade Timing and Route:

11:00 a.m. Kickoff Fly Over.

Parade begins at Main & Murdock proceeds south to Douglas, right on to Douglas and disbands in front of Kennedy Plaza, Century II Complex.  Marching units will be marshaled onto Century II Drive to disband, vehicles going on display at Kennedy Plaza will be marshaled into parking spaces in the east bound lanes of Douglas and vehicles leaving the parade will stay in the right, west bound lane of Douglas and depart the parade route across the Douglas Ave bridge.

 Recommended Parking and Disbanding Area:

Parking at or around Century II will be the best place to park to facilitate leaving after the parade.  There are also several city operated lots near Waco and 1st/2nd Streets.
