Please support House Bill 70 which will amend Section 145 of the Kentucky Constitution relating to the right to vote for former felons.

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

Please show true leadership and support passage of HB 70 to restore voting rights of former felons. The bill passed the House by an 83-14 margin.

As this bill languishes in the hands of Senate leadership our fellow Kentuckians continue to be denied their basic civil rights. And because the bill is designed to allow Kentuckians to vote on changing Section 145 of the Kentucky Constitution to require the automatic restoration of voting rights after a person completes their sentence, let the people decide!

The American Correctional Association, National Commission on Federal Election Reform and the American Bar Association all favor automatic restoration of voting rights.

I think it is in our best interest to pass HB 70 because it promotes rehabilitation and reintegration into society, which is what our criminal justice system is supposed to do.

Again, I need you to support HB 70.
