Protect State Workers' Safety! Family and Social Service workers face life and death security concerns due to security cuts that will affect more than 150 offices across Kentucky.

Send an email to your legislators and Governor Beshear asking them to maintain the security levels and safety that social workers deserve!

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

I urge you to protect the safety of state social workers by supporting the maintenance of current security levels at the more than 150 offices across Kentucky.

Tragically, state social worker Boni Frederick's murder in 2006 brought to light the dangers that social workers face in the daily performance of their jobs, and resulted in the Boni Law, which serves to protect social workers. Social workers make determinations that can affect the lives of people in unfortunate circumstances which has resulted in anger, intimidation, threats or physical harm to social workers.

Unfortunately, due to budget cuts, today social workers across Kentucky are being forced to work in buildings where there is reduced or no security provided for their safety. Social workers deserve to work in a safe environment. Again, I ask you to support the full funding of security at State Health and Family Services offices to ensure the safety of our states. Only with proper security and safety measures in place can we ensure the tragedy of Boni Frederick is not repeated.
