STATE EMPLOYEES! LET'S USE OUR VOICES!
As more and more families are in crisis and in need of immediate assistance, there are less and less responders to assist. Many hours of unpaid work to the state has been given -- "on call" means never clocking out.
When responding to a family crisis, for example, availability is 24/7 and within the hour. Enough is enough!

Subject: We do not get a holiday from paying our bills!
Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,
Cutting holiday pay is not the answer for a system that is already in crisis with exploding caseloads, high turnover, poor new-employee training and worker safety problems.
State workers are a vital part of our government infrastructure, yet we have not been included in the process to find common sense solutions to the commonwealth's problems.
State employees are workers, taxpayers and voters in Kentucky. We pay taxes, spend our income on goods and services and provide for our families. The proposed cuts to our holiday pay will only result in money that won't be spent in our state and local economies.
We don't get a holiday from paying our bills, and I ask you not to take away our holiday pay. Find a better solution.
Sincerely,
|
