UNION NEGOTIATIONS ARE SET! AFSCME AND STATE BEGIN NEGOTIATIONS AUGUST 11TH AND 12TH. A BETTER TOMORROW STARTS TODAY. It's time to negotiate! AFSCME and the state begin Union Contract Negotiations for 9,000 State Employees August 11th and 12th! Now we can negotiate for fair treatment, better safety, improved working conditions and a stronger voice at work. WE BROUGHT THE GOVERNOR TO THE TABLE. Our actions have made the difference. The governor took notice. We fought back furloughs and holiday pay cut proposals. We've sent more than 2,000 emails, mailed 500 postcards and placed 500 phone calls. We lobbied hundreds of legislators. Now we have our negotiating dates! ACTIVE AND MOVING FORWARD. Our march to a union agreement begins with negotiations. We need union members staying strong and active supporting our negotiating team. We must inform co-workers about negotiations and workplace issues.
