Kentucky State Organizing Campaign Action Center

Greetings,

Join Fellow AFSCME Members and Kentucky State Employees at Union Agreement Negotiations with the State on August 11th and 12th! Join our fellow AFSCME members and state employees in Frankfort as we begin union negotiations with the state on Tuesday, August 11 and Wednesday August 12 at 9 a.m. each day in the Capital Annex, 702 Capitol Avenue, Room 111. We urge every state employer to attend. Corrections, Probation and Parole, Juvenile Justice and Law Enforcement employees will meet August 11th to begin union agreement negotiations. Health and Social Services employees will begin their union agreement negotiations August 12th. If you need transportation to attend negotiations please call 1-866-871-0646 AFSCME and our negotiating teams are proposing common sense solutions to many problems within state government, including a whistleblower protection to ensure that state employees can speak up against wasted or misused resources. Seniority rights, a requirement for notice if work rules are changed, a new employee orientation program and a job bidding process will also be addressed. Negotiators are focused on staffing issues, safety and health issues and better employee training and development to reduce turnover and bring a stronger commitment to us as state employees. These negotiations will affect all state employees in Corrections, Probabation and Parole, Juvenile Justice and other Law Enforcement as well as those in Health and Social Services. But only state employees who join AFSCME can vote to ratify a negotiated union agreement. If you want to be take part and get involved, join AFSCME today! Send an email to info@afscmekentucky.org or call 1-866-871-0646 for more information. Remember, its our voice, our jobs and our union. A better tomorrow starts today!
