For years, major chocolate companies have used cocoa
harvested by trafficked, forced and child labor in West
Africa. Just last week the US Department of Labor included
cocoa from five countries in West Africa on a list of goods
produced by child and forced labor. This Halloween,
don’t leave your neighbors in the dark about the problems
in the cocoa industry!
Through Reverse Trick-or-Treating, kids give Fair
Trade chocolate back to adults while trick-or-treating on
Halloween! The chocolate is attached to a card with
information about social and environmental justice issues in the
cocoa industry and how buying Fair Trade certified chocolate
provides a solution.
If we are going to reach a quarter million households on
Halloween again this year with our important message promoting
social justice, we need your help!
