Support workers not corporate greed. Invest in workers today with $15 instead of Dole Foods Company. |
Today is the start of a new era for the Dole Foods Company as it will become publicly traded in an effort to pay off debt it has accrued. Investors around the world will no doubt be eager to get their hands on Dole stocks.
But what if instead of investing in Dole, we invested in the rights of the workers who make the company's products? What if all around the world, powerful businessmen chose to actually do the right thing and put their money towards higher wages for workers and better working conditions?
Instead of buying Dole stocks, invest in ILRF’s work today.
Dole doesn’t have much to
be proud of when it comes to labor rights. Dole is
facing lawsuits in Colombia and Nicaragua for worker rights
violations, pays poverty level wages in the Philippines, and
engaged in massive downsizing before eventually selling off its
Fresh Flower Division.
ILRF has been working in solidarity with workers around the world producing for Dole to demand better conditions – and we want to keep fighting until Dole changes its ways! ILRF has exposed labor rights violations including forced pregnancy tests and poverty level wages on Dole's cut flower plantations through our Fairness in Flowers Campaign. In addition, ILRF testified before the U.S. Government concerning Dole’s extensive use of temporary labor and intimidation of labor unions.
Here at ILRF, we think its time to shift the way we think about investments and stocks. Will you invest in workers by making a donation of $15 which is the same price as a Dole stock?
Our goal is to raise the equivalent of 500 Dole shares so that we can continue to take on this massive global corporation. As someone invested in ILRF's work, you will receive a packet of materials you can share with others in your community. We will send you regular updates on the progress Dole and other companies have made concerning labor rights. You'll also be the first one to know about upcoming report releases and events in your area.Join ILRF today in paving the way for a new business model where workers get a fair share!
Sincerely,
Bama Athreya
