The House of Representatives is considering a health care reform bill, "America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009," that is by far the most progressive proposal yet this year. The bill meets President Obama's goals of controlling runaway health care costs, offering the American people real choices, making health care universal, and financing expanded coverage with a surcharge on the wealthiest Americans. AFM is pleased to see that the bill also has a strong public health insurance plan option.

This bill will be voted on before the House recesses at the end of the month, so now is the time to act.
