Subject: Issues at Fidelity House

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

I am deeply concerned about the conditions at Fidelity House. Staff turnover is high and is affecting the quality of care given to the individuals Fideleity is supposed to protect. I urge you to settle the contract in a way that allows for better care for our community's most vulnerable.

Sincerely,

Background Information

SEIU Local 509 members at Fidelity House, INC., a human services agency based in Lawrence, recently voted unanimously to authorize a one day strike.  We provide care to people with developmental disabilities in the Merrimac Valley.

They are trying to improve the quality of services at Fidelity House through training.  We are even willing to tie our paychecks to training, but the company has rejected our proposal for any raise.

The formula is simple:  Management is insisting that they cannot give us a raise.  Most workers at Fidelity House already have to work two and even three jobs just to support their families.

Please call Cliff Cohn at 617-924-8509 x530 if you have any questions.
