The vote to continue Alternative Teacher Professional Pay System (ATPPS) for 2008-09 was certified on Monday, January 26, 2009 as follows: 

Validated Ballots Received 1,085
Unidentified ballots Received 7
Yes votes:  # 869 = 80%
No votes: # 216 = 20%
Spoiled ballots: # 2 = .002%
Yes/No/Spoiled total %: 0
Affidavits: # 15

BALLOT COUNTING:
Thanks should go to the teacher committee that worked diligently all day certifying the vote.  It is a very detailed intensive process.  The committee members were:

Ballot-counting is time consuming as it requires validation of each voter's name and envelope against a membership list, among other steps:

• Checking the U.S. Post Office for return envelopes

• Alphabetizing the return envelopes to facilitate validation (against a list)

• Validating the return address on the return envelope against the membership list Opening the return envelope and separating it from the ballot envelope

• Packing up the return envelopes

• Opening the ballot envelopes separately

• Separating the ballots into two separate piles of YES and NO votes

• Counting the two piles of ballots

• Packing and sealing the ballot envelopes and ballots for the archives

• Certifying the accuracy of the count by the committee on a signed document
