Greetings,

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Mona Harris after a quiet battle with cancer.

Mona was a dear friend of Patrick Henry High School and Minneapolis Public Schools who served staff and students in the Henry Booster Club, Site Council, and various other District Committees long after her youngest son, Shane, graduated.

Mona will be remembered for her wry smile as she discussed the politics of education and for her tireless advocacy for parents in the education of their children.  Her quiet demeanor proved to be an especially effective force in winning over hardened opponents who held views contrary to hers.

Mona was the rock of Henry High School and the light that provided clarity and direction since the early 1990's.   Her memory and her example will live on and continue to guide PHHS in the future.

Mona was also known throughout the District and community. Those  who knew her are grateful for the generosity of spirit, time, wisdom, and energy Mona shared with them.

As Mona best said, Peace and Justice to you and to all of us.
