Get Ready for Interview and Select (I & S)!

The dates for Interview and Select for teachers have been finalized.  You may notice that the times have been pushed back by a week.  This decision was made for a variety of reasons:

--Departments have not completed their budgeting process. We wanted to ensure that all teachers impacted by excessing were notified so that they could participate when I & S begins.

--Enhancements and changes have been made to the I & S system based on the feedback teachers and principals provided.   The I & S system for Human Resources is still being tested.  We wanted more time to ensure that these changes work well for all involved.

--Principals and teachers were frustrated last year when a teacher was selected through I & S and subsequently laid off.  Therefore, the intent is to identify and notify teachers of layoff before I & S begins.  This will give us more time to carefully accomplish this process.     

Wednesday, April 15 - The I & S system will open for teachers to review their information.  All teachers should use this opportunity to make sure that they can access the system, check to make sure that their licenses are correctly reflected, and revise the resume used last year or upload a new resume.  This would also be a good time to visit http://www.mpls.k12.mn.us/schools_registration.html to learn more about our schools and research where you would like to apply. You can also use this time to practice your interviewing skills.

Monday, April 27 – This is the date that the I & S system will open for teachers to apply for positions.  All vacancies from Budget Tie-Out (except one year positions and TOSA positions) will be posted at that time.  While vacancies created by movement, leaves, or separations will be posted during subsequent weeks, the April 27 posting will have the most positions during Interview & Select.
