Greetings,

I hope last week has gotten off to a good start for everyone and that you have had the time needed to get ready for students' arrival.  As you all know, every day with students is important but being fully prepared for their return in the fall is essential. I will be interested in hearing from you about how things went last week and this week.

Attached, find an update about the work we did at the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers (MFT) this summer. We were busy! This update shares what has taken place in negotiations, ATPPS, Self-Governed Schools, and a variety of other activities.  Because we work for you, we plan to update you every few weeks so you can stay informed on your union's progress.

Have a great first week with students! I plan to visit several schools this week so say hello if you see me out and about in your building. If I do not get to your site, you can expect to see me sometime during the year as I plan to visit each school during 2009-2010.
