Dear NALC e-Activist,

Please join the Virginia AFL-CIO from now until Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, in our effort to get out the vote on behalf of NALC's endorsed candidate for governor, Creigh Deeds. Across the commonwealth, your labor brothers and sisters will be walking precincts and making phone calls in a unified effort to elect Creigh Deeds as governor of Virginia. As President Obama said October 27, "If you were fired up last year, then we need you out there working just as hard right now, knocking on doors, making phone calls, talking to your friends and neighbors and telling them what's at stake."

Creigh Deeds is the candidate who will help create good paying jobs and opportunities for Virginia's working families. He backs NALC's state-level agenda—promoting "Vote by Mail" and opposing "Do Not Mail" registries that would threaten our jobs.

Deeds understands the economic struggles facing working families and has pledged to work to create a stronger middle class and a stronger Virginia. He is committed to building Virginia's future and his record shows it; he voted to pass the largest investment in K-12 education in Virginia's history and he wrote the legislation that created the Governor's Economic Opportunity Fund that led to the creation of 78,000 jobs.

As we enter the home stretch, it is important that we stand with Creigh Deeds and the entire labor movement in Virginia. Over the next few days, I am strongly encouraging you to take some time out of your busy schedule to volunteer to make sure that union members across the commonwealth understand how crucial this election is.
