Greetings,
Set aside some time on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 to get out and
vote in New Jersey's Primary Election. Polls will be open from
6:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. so there is plenty of time to make sure
your voice is heard.
All across the state,
voters will choose the nominees for the following offices:
Governor, State Senate in the 6th and 23rd Legislative
Districts, the entire State Assembly, various county offices,
mayors, and local government elected officials. This year, there
are also an unprecedented number of union members seeking public
office at various levels of state government. Your vote will be
essential to securing their nomination and supporting their
efforts leading up to the general election in November.
Many of these races will
come down to the wire. Therefore, we strongly encourage all
affiliates, union members, union households, and friends of the
labor movement to participate in the nominations process.
The candidates we nominate on June 2nd will play a key role
in getting our state back on the track to economic prosperity.
Let's not wait until the next election cycle to get the job
done. Let's make sure we get this decision right the first
time.
Keep in mind; all registered voters are eligible to vote in
the Primary Election of their political party. If a voter is
unaffiliated, he or she may declare their party at the polls on
June 2nd and vote in the corresponding Primary.
Together we can make sure that the voices of New Jersey's
working families are heard. We look forward to seeing you at the
polls.
Sincerely,
Charles Wowkanech, President Laurel Brennan,
Secretary-Treasurer
