SOLIDARITY ALERT

Support the UAW in Atlantic City
Fighting for a Fair Contract

Friday, July 24, 2009 & Saturday, July 25, 2009

Contract negotiations for the UAW in Atlantic City have gone beyond the point of unacceptable. Two years after an overwhelming election victory in favor of the casino workers and their union, Caesars Casino still refuses to negotiate in good faith, making no attempt whatsoever to conceal this fact. Caesars is an entity of Harrah's Entertainment, the casino giant that brings in about $10.8 billion in revenue per year according to Fortune Magazine. This contract fight plainly shows the extent certain employers are willing to go in order to suppress a worker's right to a fair contract.

Please meet at the following place and time to support the UAW workers in their ongoing fight for a fair contract:

  • Date: Friday, July 24, 2009 & Saturday, July 25, 2009
  • Time: 4:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
  • Place: UAW Hall 470 North Albany Avenue
              Atlantic City, New Jersey 08401

Realizing that these are the summer months, we would sincerely appreciate if you could set aside some time to support the members of UAW in Atlantic City. Working together, we will keep up the pressure and ensure that the casino workers get their long overdue contract.

If you are able to attend, please contact Brian McAnally at (202) 552-9384 or via e-mail bmcanally09@gmail.com.

Sincerely,

Charles Wowkanech, President
