There are now less than 100 days until Election Day, November 3, 2009, and in recognition of this fact, today, we launched a website called "The Real Chris Christie." The site reveals Chris Christie's plotted attacks against New Jersey's working families and every sector of our labor movement as well as his determination to reverse over 10 years of our collective achievements. Covering a range of subjects from jobs and the economy to health care and education, the website will ensure that its visitors gain a clear picture of Chris Christie and will make an educated decision on November 3, 2009.

If one thing is apparent about Chris Christie and his campaign, it is that he does not respect workers and their unions. Almost every one of his policies which concern working families, seek to undermine and subvert unions. Christie has publicly accused unions of creating an unnecessary burden to taxpayers and providing absolutely no public benefit. Christie has rashly shown that there is a blatant disconnect between himself and working people, and there seems to be no limit as to how far he is willing to go to prove that he is out of touch, whether it is through his promise to layoff thousands of state workers, alter the public employee pension and health care systems, abolish project labor agreements, weaken prevailing wage laws, eliminate paid family leave benefits, support merit pay for teachers, support school vouchers, or by rejecting a worker's right to form a union through majority sign-up.
