NJ State AFL-CIO E-Activist Network

Greetings,

Union members in New Jersey set the standard for success on last Tuesday's "National Health Care Call-In Day." Ranking as one of the top 10 states in the nation, working families in New Jersey joined together and generated over 1,000 calls to our members of Congress.

Collectively, we delivered a resounding message to our representatives that "America's Affordable Health Choices Act" (H.R. 3200) must move forward and be brought to a vote. Calling on the same representatives that we moved to champion health care reform, we have now reiterated just how important it is that we pass health care this year.

We refuse to accept the status quo, and in light of an economy showing the slightest signs of recovery, now is the time to cut health care costs and ensure that all Americans have access to affordable quality care.

We sincerely thank all of our affiliates for participating in the "National Health Care Call-In Day." It is because of your conscientious efforts, that we were able to generate such an outstanding response. Working together, we have distinguished ourselves nationally, and we have proven just how effective the New Jersey labor movement is when it comes to fighting for a cause we believe in.

We look forward to building off of our recently achieved success and continuing our work together to achieve health care reform this year.

Sincerely,

Charles Wowkanech, President
