Dear E-Activist,

TROPICANA WORKERS DEAL A WINNING
HAND
SECOND VICTORY FOR
WORKING FAMILIES IN ATLANTIC CITY LAST WEEK
Just two days after slot technicians at Caesars voted to
form a union by the count of 20-11, casino dealers at Tropicana
won a voice at work by the overwhelming margin of 626-157 on Saturday.
Cashiers at Caesars are set to vote for their own union later
this week.
Last week's elections bring the total number of Atlantic
City gaming employees forming unions since March to more than
3,600. Earlier this year, casino dealers at Caesars, Bally's and
Trump Plaza chose to be
represented by the UAW and have been working to reach a fair
first contract with their
employers.
The casino industry and the labor movement have enjoyed a
positive relationship for much of Atlantic City's 30-year gaming
history and we are hopeful that casino management will respect
their workers' decision to exercise a voice on the job.
We welcome all of these workers to our labor
family!
In
Solidarity,
