Nearly three years after organizing their union, the professional and support staff at Sussex County Community College have had to endure union-busting efforts and attacks on their free speech rights. Take action by telling the college administration to respect their employees' rights and bargain in good faith with the American Federation of Teachers, and join us on Tuesday, April 28 from 4:30 to 6:00 for a rally in support of the union at Sussex CCC.

I'm writing to ask that Sussex County Community College return to the bargaining table with the American Federation of Teachers to settle a fair first collective bargaining agreement with the hard-working professional and support staff of the college.

It has been nearly three years since your employees expressed their clear support for union representation. Since that time, your administration has only gone through the motions of negotiating a fair settlement, has encouraged decertification of the bargaining units and has attempted to suppress the free speech rights of your employees around union and economic issues.

Such attempts at union-busting are a deplorable waste of precious public higher education funding at precisely the time that we can least afford it. I urge you and the Board of Trustees to do all you can to expedite the negotiating process and quickly settle a fair contract.
