North Texas Jobs with Justice www.labordallas.org

Greetings,

Rev. Dr. Rieger to Join President Moeller on September 25

When Texas AFL-CIO President Becky Moeller challenges the thinking of North Texas activists on September 25, she will have a world-renowned theologian by her side. Reverend Doctor Joerg Rieger, the Wendland-Cook Endowed Professor of Constructive Theology at the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University will join Moeller in reviewing the situation and recommending dramatic change for the future.

National health care reform is an absolutely necessary part of the changes that are needed and are underway in America.

Moeller

Everyone invited!

  • 4:30 PM Friday, September 25

  • 2218 East Main Street

  • Grand Prairie, Texas

President Moeller will just have returned from the historic National AFL-CIO convention in Pittsburgh. The labor movement has elected new leadership with strong ideas for the kinds of change that America's wage earners must fight for and obtain. They were addressed very favorably by the President of the United States and other significant leaders.

Change is the theme

RiegerDr. Rieger's latest book is No Rising Tide: Theology, Economics, and the Future (Minneapolis: Fortress Press, 2009). He expresses the view that people need to review their fundamental precepts and understanding. For more about Dr. Rieger, see his SMU web page.

The event was initiated by North Texas Jobs with Justice as part of a national JwJ economic fightback campaign. We are inspired to demand much more than a "jobless" economic recovery! More information
