Report Time for a Deadhead Segment
–
Please remember that check-in time for a domestic flight segment
is one hour, even if that flight is a deadhead segment. Many MEM reserves are
being flown to the ATL satellite base, to continue on a flight
across the Atlantic.
When you are assigned to this flying, your first segment
is a DH on Delta to ATL.
Your pattern will state your report time as 30 minutes
before departure.
Per the contract, this is done for pay purposes
only. Your per diem
starts 30 minutes prior to departure on deadhead segments only;
however, the report time at base before that DH segment is still
one hour. DO NOT
forget to make your one hour report, or you will be given a Late
Report. This is
true on all dead head segments departing the base, for both
schedule holders and reserves.
Campaign
Update: LEC
Council Rep Lucy Green and LEC President Shawn Fivecoat are
spending a great deal of their time in the Delta Crew Lounges in
CVG and ATL, talking to pre-merger Delta flight attendants. We are excited to report
there is good progress!
We are having many good conversations, and are starting
to see movement towards support. There were even a few days where Lucy’s
husband, Capt Steve Green, spent some of his days off in the ATL
Crew Lounges (in uniform) talking to Delta flight
attendants. We
would like to take this opportunity to say “THANK
YOU” to Steve, for standing up on our behalf!
LEC Officer Base
Visibility – Your Local Officers are gearing up for
the upcoming election.
We are spending as much time as possible in the MEM Crew
Lounge, to make sure you have the most up to date
information. We
will have a table set up with bag tags and AFA Pins.
We will continue to
rotate our time in the Delta Crew Lounges in ATL and CVG,
talking to our Delta counterparts. We are spending 3 to 5 day stretches, in
uniform, having conversations about the benefits of a contract.
These conversations
are helping us change minds on the Delta side.
CALL TO
ACTION - MAKE FMLA THE LAW FOR FLIGHT
CREWS
-FMLA legislation, correcting
the exclusion of flight attendants, is before the
Senate. If we want this legislation to pass, your
Senator's need to hear from you, NOW !!!
Currently
the NW flight attendants have FMLA, because we have negotiated
and secured it in our Contract. If we can fix the law,
eliminating the loop hole, we will not have to negotiate for
these protections going forward. Currently pre-merger
Delta flight attendants have FMLA; however, it can be taken away
at anytime, because the law does not technically cover flight
crews.
Please pick
up the phone and call both of your Senator's. You should
have every single member of your family, who is
of voting age make a call as well. You can even include
your neighbors and friends! IT IS THAT IMPORTANT
!
Below is a
script you can utilize:
Hello. My name
is__________________ and I am a registered voter in the
state. I live in
(CITY). I am
calling to ask the Senator to cosponsor S. 1422. This is
bipartisan, common sense legislation which has already passed
the House of Representatives on a unanimous voice vote. It would fix a long
standing problem and finally provide FMLA fairness for flight
attendants. Please
make sure that the Senator stands with the nations flight
attendants by cosponsoring S. 1422. Thank you for your time
