To see whether a physician or facility participates in
the UnitedHealthCare or Medica network, log on to www.myHealthcareView.com and enter username:
delta and password:
delta.
Select the Find Physician and Facilities link and
follow the instructions.
If your Physician does not appear under “Delta
Network Plans”, look under “Delta OOA Plan”.
OOA, or Out Of Area, means United Health Care has little
or no presence in a particular region; however, your doctor may
still be “In-Network” which means that in-network
coverage’s apply.
Letter 35 Arbitration
Update
The arbitration of
AFA’s Collective Bargaining Agreement, Letter of Agreement
(LOA) 35, a.k.a. the “Me Too” Clause, closed on July
10, 2009.
Generally, the arbitrator takes 90 days to formulate
his/her decision based on the facts presented in the case; the
90 day period is not a requirement, but rather a general
practice. Following
the language of LOA 35, if any labor group gets a deal that
reduces the Company’s "take" - that isn't justified by a
provable dollar-for-dollar concession for those improvements -
then the other labor groups are entitled to the same deal. Upon exiting bankruptcy,
NWA executed a grievance settlement with ALPA for overtime pay
for pilots flying over 80 hours. However, it is AFA’s position that what
the pilots gave up for flying over 80 hours was significantly
overvalued, so they received far more than what they actually
"paid" for. As a
result AFA is entitled to the same dollar-for-dollar
improvements that ALPA received. The International Association of
Machinists (IAM) has filed an identical grievance and is
awaiting their results as well.
*The arbitrator has
informed the Northwest Master Executive Council (MEC) that they
will advise of their decision in early
November.
Report time for
DHD
Please be aware of the required report time
for DHD flights. According to our contract ALL flights arriving
and departing HNL are considered “International” and
the required report time is 1:30 minutes prior to scheduled
departure. The
exception is HNL-Mainland flights operated with 757 aircraft,
the report time is a 1:15 prior.
There seems to be some confusion in the
report time for DHD to SLC, This flight is operated with a 767,
until we get clarification from scheduling, the report time is
1:30 minutes prior to departure per the contract and our FA
Manual.
*Reminder* A
change in departure time does not necessarily mean a change in
report time. You must be specifically notified of a change in
report time. When in doubt, contact crew scheduling.
NRT layover hotel security
upgrades.
Beginning Oct. 26, electronic key locks will
be installed on all guest room doors and remaining public area
doors at the Radisson Hotel Narita. The hotel front desk will
also undergo a “soft” remodeling to accommodate the
new electronic key system.
The Radisson is working to minimize
disruptions to crewmembers staying at the hotel during the
renovations by scheduling noise-related work around crew rest
times and ensuring that crewmembers are lodged in rooms located
away from the noise-affected areas of the hotel. The renovation
is expected to be completed by November 20.
Enhancements of the new electronic key
system include:
·
Increases the
safety and security of the Radisson Hotel Narita.
·
No more bulky,
solid room keys for guest rooms; these will be replaced by an
RFID coded keycard that is completely reprogrammable at any
time.
·
If a room
key is lost or misplaced room security is not compromised as a
new keycard can be issued on the spot which will cancel out the
lost keycard.
New Government Affairs
Committee Member
Please welcome Keolu Peralto to HNL
Government Affairs. Keolu has volunteered his services and
we welcome his high energy and enthusiasm. Keolu has been
active in the community and after the sudden passing of Duke
Bainum he ran against well-established Ann Kobayashi for the
City Councilman's seat. One can only "root" for the
guy who can actually "step up to the plate". Please show
your support and encouragement to Keolu the next time you fly
with him.
IQ/AQ Hotel
Tip
It is recommended that you call the
front desk and reserve a seat on the hotel shuttle to the
airport. I would recommend reserving your seat the night before
and double checking in the morning. Seats are very limited and
there is not a designated shuttle for IQ/AQ attendees.
In Unity,
