Additional Information on Summer Reliability
Incentive Plan Non-Payment
To contest eligibility for Northwest management's
Summer Reliability Incentive Plan, please send all questions to
FASRP@nwa.com.
70 Hour Minimum Grievance Information
The 70 Hour Minimum grievance will be heard by the
arbitrators on November 28-30th. This is not nearly as
soon as anyone would have liked, but this is the earliest
date both parties could schedule a set of three arbitration
dates in a row, with an agreed upon arbitrator. We
will ask for the decision to be made as soon as possible.
New Hire Initiation Fee
All probationary flight attendants (AFA Apprentice
Members) will receive a bill for the $60 AFA Initiation Fee
until the payroll deduction option for this fee is in place at
NWA. If probationary members receive a bill,
they may pay it in increments or pay it in full after
probation. Any questions regarding the
Initiation Fee may be directed to AFA Membership Services at
(800) 424-2401 ext. 707 or AFA Local 94 at (734) 532-8404.
Did you know?
Did you know that the CENTRY Manual and SLIC Manual
are available on ATLAS under the "Bidding Resources" tab?
The CENTRY Manual explains how lineholder and
reserve schedule adjustments work, in detail.
Of particular interest, you can find an explanation of
the MATRIX option in ACCESS. All Critical
Bidding information will be in the analysis cover letter and in
the SLIC Manual.
Partial Line Bidding with Critical Bid
Please keep in mind that a Partial Line is not the
same as a Short Line. Please familiarize
yourself with the HUGE differences in these types of lines.
Partial Lines only occur with a Critical
Bid. Since we did not "go Critical" in any
bases for November, check out these differences if we have a
Critical Bid in December. There will be no
Critical Bid with PBS, so this is likely the last year for
it.
Contract Printing Update
Our Contract Implementation team is working
diligently on our new contract, to prepare it for
printing. Creation of an accurate and
comprehensive index is very time consuming.
In addition, it is at this point that our negotiators
must go over the contract with a fine-toothed comb for any
errors. If you see any discrepancies in the
Green Book, please report them to your Local 94
officers. The latest estimate for the
printing of the contract is December 2007.
In the meantime, please carry at least Sections 5, 6 (and
7 if on Reserve) from the Green Book. If you
need a copy, stop by Local 94. The contract
is also available on www.nwaafa.org and has a search
field.
Review of Crew Orders, FA Agreement (p. 6.17
)
Please familiarize yourself with this provision of
the contract. If you feel Crew Scheduling is
still in error, please note all relevant information and fill
out an online grievance form or call the Local 94 office.
"Flight attendants must comply with crew orders as
issued by Crew Scheduling. In the event a
question of flight time limitations, rest periods or
rescheduling arises, a Flight Attendant may ask for a review of
those crew orders. A request for a Review of
Crew Orders shall be logged into CMS, with a notation of the
final outcome of the review. If the crew
order was found to be correct upon review by Crew Scheduling
and/or Crew Coordinators, the Flight Attendant shall report to
the flight as directed. Should it be
discovered later that the Flight Attendant was correct, he/she
shall receive additional pay for the entire duty period(s) flown
in error, prorated, at a rate equal to one-half (1/2) of his/her
applicable hourly incentive rate."
Duplicate Lines and Incomplete Lines for Reserves
While Critical Bid didn't occur in DTW for November,
there are a significant number of duplicate and incomplete
reserve lines in the bid run (22.6% of DTW Reserves for
November.) Duplicate lines are contractual
and they occur when the mathematical limit is reached for legal
lines in SLIC. This happens more now with the
6 day maximum RD parameter. If you have an incomplete line (you
don't have 13 days off for November,) please contact Scheduling
for your remaining days off. More
information can be found in the analysis cover letter and the
SLIC Manual.
Fly safe and fly the contract!
