DTW Town Hall Meeting - February
26th
Please
join Local Executive Council 94 and guest speaker AFA
International President Patricia Friend in 2 sessions of
Town Hall Meetings on February 26th, from 9-11 am and
1-3:30 pm in the DTW Westin Columbus
Room. AFA Union leaders and legal advisors are
focused on merger partner possibilities and refining plans for
the various scenarios we may face. AFA is keenly
aware of the likelihood of consolidation in the industry, and
are determined to keep you informed of your rights and risks
should NWA merge with another carrier. Information
from merger strategic planning meetings will be discussed
and member questions will be answered.
DTW Contract Training - February
25th
Local 94
President Diana Mitcham and AFA Attorney Scott Goodman, along
with other Local Officers, will be conducting informal
contract training in DTW on February 25th in the AMFA office
(next to AFA's office.) Two sessions,
at 11 am and 3 pm, are planned. Helpful schedule
handouts for Regular and Reserve lineholders will be
available.
SLIC Bid Deadline Delay - New SLIC
Counselors
Due to a
delay in printing and distribution of the bid packet, the SLIC
bid deadline is delayed one day and until February
18th at 9:00 local. The bid resolution deadline is
February 23rd. Local 94 extends a warm welcome to our new
DTW SLIC Counselors, Kimberly Salenik and Rosie Burleson.
They will be training this month and SLIC Counselors from other
locations will be brought in to assist.
NWA Outlook Web Access Email
(OWA)
As a
reminder be aware that emails sent via the company Outlook
Web Access Email (as with the old Centry email system) can be
monitored, logged, and used in company investigations. It
is advisable to avoid using your NWA OWA email address
(firstname.lastname@nwa.com) for anything personal or for any union
business.
Release Time Exceptions
If you are
exceeding the contractual post-flight release time of 15 or 30
minutes, please contact Scheduling to receive a Release Time
Exception to be credited for your complete duty period.
Many duties can cause you to exceed the release time:
awaiting wheelchairs, UM escorting, remaining
onboard for the LFA/Purser "walk around," monitoring
through passengers, etc.
DTW Luggage Storage Time Limits
On February
12th, LEC 94 met with DTW Base Management and shared your
concerns regarding their announcement to limit the DTW luggage
storage to 10 days. Management has agreed to increase
the time limit to 30 days after this feedback. Thank you
for raising your concerns so that we could address this
problem.
Crew Facility Improvement Suggestions

DTW
Management has agreed to partner with AFA and local members to
create a plan to improve our work environment. Please
submit ideas to Daniel Grey at dgrey@nwaafa.org.
Ideas that have already been submitted include: stools for SLIC

etc.

Preferential Bidding System Online Tutorial, to be conducted in
MSP Bldg F during the week of February 18th. Contract
