**ATTENTION FORMER HNL BASED MEMBERS**

Our AFA Local 99 brothers and sisters asked that we share this announcement with Detroit, as we have many members who were once a part of the Honolulu family.

Dear Fellow Flight Attendants,

It is with great sadness that we announce that Honolulu Base Supervisor Val Covington has passed away on June 22, 2007 at her home.  Val was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  Val has been with Northwest Airlines for approximately 30 years and has been working with the Honolulu Inflight since the base opened 17 years ago in 1990.  She has been a part of the Honolulu base family and touched many lives over that time and will be greatly missed.   Many Flight Attendants have been based in Honolulu over the years and remember Val for her dedication to the Flight Attendants.

There will be a memorial service held on Sunday July 8, 2007 at the Mililani Cemetery at 09:00. 

I ask that you keep Val’s family in your thoughts and take care of one another.
