STEP 2: Call or write now! Sample Phone Script OCSEA member: “Hi, my name is (your first and last name) and I work (state what it is you do) in the (your agency or department name). I wanted to talk to the Representative/Senator about some concerns I have regarding the budget in that agency.” Aide: (Legislator’s name) is not available at the moment. Can I take a message? OCSEA member: "This is not the Ohio I thought it was. My Ohio would not CLOSE 6 prisons, 3 mental health hospitals, 10 developmental centers, and 35 parks. As a state employee union member, I am urging you to identify responsible new revenue sources. Please do not allow the state's $3.2 billion budget hole to cripple state agencies, displace more workers, or further penalize working families.” (OPTIONAL - BUT HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) Aide: “I will relay your message.” OCSEA Member: “Thank you and please make sure the message is relayed to the conference committee members as well.”
