Greetings,
Let us
intorduce you to Jan Smith. For the last year and
a half, Jan has been organizing with her co-workers to
join SEIU-UHW at St. Jude Medical Center. Over a year ago,
Jan went out on leave for 5 months due to a bike accident.
After being back at work for 7 months, her doctor scheduled her
for surgery and St. Jude administration approved the leave
for her surgery. Now when she needs her healthcare
benefits the most, ST JUDE cancelled her healthcare
coverage and cashed out all her paid time off (PTO)
benefits without her consent.
No one should go
through what Jan is facing. As a healthcare provider for
our community, St. Jude should not terminate its own employees
healthcare coverage. It should do the right thing and
reinstate Jan Smith's health benefits.
Please
help Jan Smith by calling the new CEO of St. Jude Hospital, Mr. Lee Penrose Sr. at 714-992-3000
X3939 or email lee.penrose@stjoe.org
and tell him:
1. As he takes on his new roll at
St. Jude, we expect him to do the right thing and reinstate Jan
Smith's health benefits.
2. We expect St.
Jude Hospital to be a responsible member of our
community.
With your help, Jan
Smith will overcome this injustice!
