Support Landmark Medical Center employees

Landmark Medical Center employees have shown tremendous loyalty to their hospital -- working hard to make their controversial new Cardiac and Cancer programs successful, and even picketing the headquarters of Blue Cross to protest inadquate reimbursements to their hospital.  But now Landmark CEO Gary Gaube is looking to solve Landmark's financial problems on the backs of its hard-working employees by cutting employee pensions, health plans, and other rights and benefits.

Subject: Show some appreciation for employees!!!

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

I am appalled that Landmark Medical Center is looking to make drastic cuts in employees' pensions, health benefits, job security, leave time, and more.

I have heard that your employees went to bat for Landmark by picketing the headquarters of Blue Cross to support your efforts to get higher reimbursement for your services.

I have also heard that your employees have worked hard to make your new cardiac and cancer programs successful.

Is this the thanks you give your employees?!!

Don't put Landmark's cardiac and cancer programs at risk! I urge you to negotiate a fair contract with your employees.

Sincerely,

Background Information

Landmark Medical Center has invested millions of dollars to start a cancer and cardiac program and a cardiac at the hospital.  Many health care officials in Rhode Island have questioned the wisdom of these programs, but Landmark employees have worked hard to make these programs successful.

Landmark employees have even picketed the headquarters of Blue Cross Blue Shield in support of Landmark President & CEO Gary Gaube's efforts to obtain better reimbursement rates from Blue Cross.

But instead of showing his appreciation, Gary Gaube is demanding substantial cuts in employee pension rights, health benefits, leave of absence rights, sick and vacation time, overtime protections, and more!
