Keep the faith at Fatima!

Nurses at Fatima Hospital, a proud Catholic institution, take pride in the compassionate, quality care that they give to their patients.  But the nurses have lost faith in the the hospital's administration.  It seems that Bishop Tobin and Fatima's Board of Directors are drifting away from their primary mission to provide quality care.

Subject: Keep the faith at Fatima!

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

I am very disappointed that a Catholic institution like Fatima Hospital would show such disregard for its nurses and its patients.

There is no excuse for staffing the hospital below the levels that you have publicly reported to the Department of Health.

And, demanding takeaways in benefits and working conditions will only make matters worse for staff and patients.

I urge you to show good faith in responding to the concerns of your nurses, and to practice what you preach!

Sincerely,

Background Information

Nurses at Fatima Hospital, a proud Catholic institution, take pride in the compassionate, quality care that they give to their patients.  But the nurses have lost faith in the the hospital's administration.  It seems that Bishop Tobin and Fatima's Board of Directors are drifting away from their primary mission to provide quality care.

Over the past 3 1/2 years, nurses have filed over 400 complaints about potentially unsafe staffing situations at Fatima -- over 100 in the past six months alone!  And yet, during the current contract negotiations at Fatima, the administration has made no effort to respond to nurse's concerns.  In fact, Fatima is demanding numerous changes in benefits and working conditions that are likely to worsen the staffing problems at Fatima.
