Greetings,

Fellow workers, last week was incredible!!! The Old Bay Restaurant was just swimming with red union shirts!! Thanks so much to everyone who came out--we all had such an amazing time!! Really, it's inspiring... and this is my favorite part about being in a union with all of you. We may be huddled up in our separate labs and library carrels all day, but in the end we have a place to come together, make friends and unite around common interests and common causes.

But if you missed out last week, fear not! We'll be out again this week, joining up with our friends in the Graduate Student Association (GSA) at Evelyn's Restaurant on Easton Ave (between Hamilton and Somerset) in New Brunswick anytime after 9 PM.

Inspire Us: The union is preparing a Graduate Employees Daily Planner for the coming year, and we're looking for great quotes to print inside: anything relating to labor, civil rights, movements for economic and social justice around the world--indeed, even inspiring quotations about education, scholarship and research, or whatever else you find relevant to our working lives at Rutgers. And your quote, of course, is worth a drink. (For really good ones that I haven't heard before, I might be inspired to buy two!)
