We have successfully organized our union of Postdoctoral Associates and Fellows within the Rutgers AAUP-AFT^*.  Now it is time to bargain for a strong contract.  

Writing our own unique contract ensures that we address both the commonalities and the specific needs of our diverse disciplines.  Therefore, to move the bargaining process forward, we need input from you. 

The link below is for a bargaining issues survey, which presents questions related to issues identified during dialogues with fellow colleagues across the campuses.  Through this survey, we hope to bring everyone into this dialogue.

The topics in this survey include provisions that other AAUP and AFT unions, together with unions here at Rutgers, currently contain in their contracts.  In addition, we hope to recognize areas of support needed for the postdoctoral position. 

If you have received this letter, you are eligible for membership and we want to read your completed survey.  All members should participate in the writing of the contract, and your answers on this survey will guide our negotiating team at the bargaining table with Rutgers University.  Once the contract is negotiated, each of us will vote to approve or reject the contract.  To make sure you get the contract you want, fill out this survey today!
