The process of negotiating our first contract for Postdocs at Rutgers is underway! Bargaining surveys were sent out last week to your email, as well as a link being placed on our website rutgerspostdocs.org. Take the time to fill it out and pass the link on to any postdocs that you know  may not have received it or had the time yet to complete the survey. The results from this survey will help inform the crafting of our contract proposals with the university.

If you are interested in participating on the bargaining team, attendance of the union meeting on Wednesday August 12, 2009 meeting at 6pm at the AAUP-AFT office at 11 Stone St, New Brunswick NJ is a must. We’ll be continuing our discussions about contract priorities that can address the difficulties and problems with the postdoctoral job at Rutgers, information that we need to get from the University to help us craft contract proposals and what negotiating with University adminstrators will be like. We will be finalizing who will participate at the table with Administration. If you are absolutely unable to attend on Wednesday but are still interested in participating in the bargaining process, please email info@rutgerspostdocs.org or call 732-745-0300 before noon on Wednesday August 12.
