Greetings,

You are invited to apply for the Rutgers Council of AAUP-AFT Chapters Fall 2009 Organizing Fellowship Program.

The fellows will be involved in membership recruitment and chapter organizing work.  The Fellow’s primary activity will be visiting colleagues who are not currently members of the faculty union.  Fellows will be expected to spend 5 hours a week preparing for and conducting outreach for the duration of the fellowship and will work in cooperation with union leaders and staff responsible for membership.

The semester-long fellowship carries a $2,500 stipend.

Please provide a curriculum vitae and brief summary of the reasons you would like to participate in the fellowship program.  Include any experience you might have in activism or membership work for labor unions, professional associations, or community organizations.

Experience is not required and union members from all ranks, titles and units and campuses are eligible to apply. Please send your vita and application to Richard Moser at rmoser@rutgersaaup.org.

An alternative:

Want to get involved in membership work but only have a few hours a semester?

Then be part of the “Talk to 2” campaign.  Many union members become much needed activists simply by speaking with two colleagues each semester. It’s easy and rewarding. Contact Rich Moser for more information at rmoser@rutgersaaup.org
