Greetings,
Announcing the Results of the
Rutgers AAUP-AFT membership ratification vote on the
Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and the Letter of
Agreement (LOA)
The ballots were counted on September 4,
2009. The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and the Letter of
Agreement (LOA) were ratified. There was overwhelming
support, though there were many comments from both yes and no
voters, expressing concerns with regard to financial
transparency and university budget priorities.
To read the documents related to this amendment to
the 2007-2011 Collective Agreement between Rutgers AAUP-AFT and
the Rutgers University administration, visit our website:

We
thank all members who participated in this long and
difficult process of reaching these Agreements and for voting.
We will monitor the implementation of the Agreements, but we
cannot do it alone. We need members to contact us as the
implementation unfolds in your departments.
The issues you should be on the alert
for include:
-
Proper implementation of the salary
increases for full-time faculty
-
No delay in salary increases for graduate
employees or PTLs
-
That the enhanced evaluation process (formerly
called "FASIP") stays on track with the announcement by
September 11 of awards for this year and next year's evaluation
process going forward in a timely fashion, following
the provisions in the Collective Agreement 2007-2011, which
were not changed in any way
-
Rescinding administrative directions on
increased teaching workload arrangements, reversal of
across-the-board denials of 100% sabbaticals, and reversal
of reductions in research funds.
Please contact our office at 732-964-1000 or
email aaup@rutgersaaup.org with
questions, comments, and concerns.
Sincerely,
Adrienne Eaton President,
Rutgers AAUP-AFT
