Greetings,

The year is off to a great start, and we're ready to start celebrating! Join us this Friday for our first monthly "Thank the Organizers!" party... which we could just as well call "Thank the Members!" It's really your support that makes us strong. But then, there are also those few who step up to make it happen, and we want a special chance to clink glasses and let them know how much we appreciate it! We'll have plenty of beer, wine, soda, snacks... and dance music, courtesy of our own 90.3 The Core DJ (and AAUP-AFT Vice President!) Joseph Dwyer. Don't miss it!

Now, I know what you're thinking: It's in New Brunswick. We're always doing fun things in New Brunswick, and Newark misses out! Well, I have TWO bits of good news for you:

FIRST, we're so eager to bring you out to celebrate with us that we'll offer up a limited number of beds, sofas, mattresses and sleeping pads to anyone from Newark who might be a little more interested in a party that doesn't have to end with a late night car or train ride home! Please RSVP to taga@gsa.rutgers.edu while space is still available!

SECOND, we paid a little visit to Newark two weeks ago, and we met some great organizers hoping to bring a little more life to the union at Newark. We're still getting plans off the ground, but expect a holiday party in December! If you'd like to help organize such an event, please let me know! Remember, one great organizer will get a $100 prize for signing the most members this month! The number to beat is six, and there's still time! Our current leader basically just gathered his GA friends together and signed them all on the spot--most of them didn't even know they weren't members already! It's that easy, so follow his example and give him a run for his money! Email me for further details.
