Legislative Session Begins
The legislative session begins on Tuesday, March 3rd. We must keep the pressure on legislators to make our schools a priority. Please send an e-mail to the Governor, Senate President, Speaker of the House, your Senator, and your Representative today.

It is the paramount duty of our state to make adequate provisions for our schools. As your constituent, I ask that you ensure that this provision in our Constitution is upheld.
There are several alternatives to cutting our school district budgets.
- Please provide flexibility in district budgets and end all categoricals.
- Please allow district untethered access to the capital budget for operating expenses.
- Please stop all unfunded mandates and postpone any programs that have not been funded yet.
- Please look at revenue sources as one way to avoid further cuts.
By taking the necessary steps mentioned above, I am confident that our schools will be able to survive these difficult times.
