Greetings,

As we face the worst economic crisis in decades, students and workers have realized that their futures are at stake. Rising tuition, budget cuts and staff and faculty layoffs have created a catastrophic situation in our universities.

It is in this spirit that the Student Labor Action Project (SLAP) and the United States Student Association (USSA) have developed an organizing kit to fight layoffs, budget cuts and demand full funding of higher education in our states. The purpose of this kit is to give students the tools to build strong coalitions on campuses between students, staff and faculty that challenge the administration and create real change in our universities.

From innovative solutions such as looking at the current building projects and searching for more energy efficient alternatives that will save money in the future, to asking for pay cuts to top administrators in our university, this tool kit is a starting point for your group to start tackling the issue of privatization of our education.
