Dear friend of the Cornell Global Labor Institute,

Unions all over the world are joining hands with other movements to call for determined global action on climate change - action that creates good "green" jobs and advances social justice.

Please join AFL-CIO leader RICHARD TRUMKA, former Irish President MARY ROBINSON, Maldives President MOHAMED NASHEED, and legendary folk singer JUDY COLLINS for an evening of hope and inspiration.

Register now for “JOBS, JUSTICE, CLIMATE” event on SEPTEMBER 21 at the Society for Ethical Culture,  2 West 64th St at Central Park West, 6:00 p.m. - 8:45 p.m.
www.JobsJusticeClimate.net .  Registration is FREE

The purpose of the gathering is to send a strong message from the labor community and its allies to world leaders assembled at the UN . The message is this: When it comes to climate change, now is not the time for small plans. We need a fair and ambitious new global treaty to reduce emissions. We also need strong legislation at home to drive the green economy, create jobs, and rebuild communities.

We are asking union leaders to encourage staff, activists and members to attend the event in union colors.
