The attached public notice seeking input with regard to
whether NYS Department of Labor (DOL) "regulations are
unnecessary, unbalanced, unwise, duplicative, or unduly
burdensome" has been publicly posted pursuant to Executive Order
Number 25.
We expect the business community to respond with a litany of
anti-union charges against the many workplace rules and
regulations that have been established over the years. We
strongly encourage every union to review and be aware of
any labor related rules and regulations that may affect them and
be prepared for possible attempts by the Paterson Administration
to amend and/or repeal them, pursuant to the intent of Executive
Order #25.
We have written to the Administrative Regulations Review
Commission requesting review of the process being advanced by
Executive Order 25. (Letter attached).
While it is not possible to include the complete text of
every labor related rule and regulation with this email we have
attached an index of rules and regulations for your
review. Please be advised that each state agency, including
the Department of Health, Education, Civil Service,
Environmental Conservation, etc., has been charged with
reviewing rules and regulation so this list may not include all
items that would affect your locals.
We encourage all affiliates to send letters in support of any
rules and regulation that are important to your locals and share
that information with the NYS AFL-CIO. For any questions,
please call the NYS AFL-CIO Legislative Department at
1-518-436-8516.
