Subject: Support the Senate Versions of HB10 and HB11

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

The 2010 budget must be crafted to protect workers, families and struggling Missourians during these economic times.

I strongly urge you to support the Senate versions of HB 10 and HB 11, including core funding for crucial health, mental health and social services programs. The House version of the budget is outrageous because it eliminates thousands of jobs and cuts critical state services and programs that Missouri families need.

Use Federal economic recovery money as it was intended: to stabilize state budgets and avoid cuts to services or jobs during emergency times.

At a time when workers and families are struggling just to eat, fill their gas tanks, and heat their homes, more cuts to health care and services must be stopped!

Sincerely,

Background Information

Rep. Allen Icet, Rep. Rick Stream and Republican House leaders proposed a budget that would eliminate thousands of Missouri jobs and cut critical state services.

Their cuts to health, mental health and social services programs are unnecessary. The cuts turn away hundreds of millions of federal dollars available to stabilize Missouri's economy.

While the Budget Conference Committee began negotiations 4/29, it is unclear how quickly the budget negotiations may be resolved.
