Along with a high stakes national election,
working Missourians also face important choices on
initiatives the state-level. Missouri Jobs with
Justice has supported Proposition B – The Quality
Home Care initiative .
Proposition B – Quality Home Care
Initiative
A YES Vote proposition B will create a consumer–led
Quality Home Care Council. This council will augment, not
replace the current system of oversight. Consumers will
continue to hire, fire, train and direct all aspects of
care. The Council will address the critical challenges of
workforce recruitment and retention.
Specifically it will:
- Help connect people who need services with
workers through a statewide directory
- Provide backup services when a home care
worker is not available
- Preprare the program for future growth by
reducing turnover, providing voluntary training and career
development and career development
- Allow workers a voice through a union if
they so choose.
